Minutes for 2/1/13

In Attendance: KC Vierra, Carla Reynolds, Gerald Carrell, Ina Shepard, Marie Donadio, Aria Peters, Ann Morris

Next Agenda:

1.        Review our use of the graphic organizer.

·     Aria Peters used a graphic organizer to communicate to students the first 3 targets of a unit. Students wrote down one assignment that matched one target. They put their score and feedback that Aria assigned them.

·     Carla Reynolds gave students an organizer with a rubric and a score tracking chart. After students gave their speech they assessed themselves and Reynolds also wrote down her grade. Students were given the opportunity to discuss their grade if they disagreed with it, but all students were in agreement with Carla’s grade.

·        The rest of us have not implemented one yet.

2.        Investigate how EGP can be used efficiently.

We discussed how to use EGP.

·        How to enter standards

·        How to correlate the standards with assignments.

·        How to print progress reports communicating standards to students.

3.          A Repair Kit for Grading – Due to the lack of books available, we’re going ot watch the DVD next time and then discuss it as a group.

a.       Which broken grading practices do you still feel justified doing despite the reading?

b.      Which bgp do you feel you will change based on the reading?

a.       Which fixes do you need more support in order to implement?
